Launched in 2023 as a community, Sliver of Hope was an initiative started by Founder Anishka Rao in 2020 when the first wave of the coronavirus hit. Initially, the project was started to provide covid care packages to the people who could not afford masks and sanitizers during the peak of the pandemic. Since then, we have undertaken multiple short-term projects with the resources we had, in order to provide the most we could. Even after the lockdown ended, celebrating Diwali meant a lot to everybody, yet some missed their families who were far away, in their hometowns. Seeing this, the Diwali Joy of Giving project was taken up.

Sliver of Hope is a volunteer-based unofficial organization started by students, made to form a community of like-minded people who want to help others in any way they can. At Sliver of Hope, it is our aim to spread kindness and hope throughout our community in as many ways as possible. Being minors, we use the resources at our disposal to do the best we can, and use what we have to give to our community, and encourage others to do so as well.
